About the Author: Karen Jean Matsko Hood wears many hats in her daily life, but she is first and foremost a wife and mother. An accomplished author of children’s books, poetry and cookbooks, she also makes time to be a court appointed advocate in support of the rights of abused and neglected children. Ms. Hood and her husband and twelve children and foster children make their home in Spokane Valley, Washington, where they raise Icelandic Horses and Icelandic Sheepdogs. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University.
